RiL023 Night Communications - Night Clerk (Heartbeat)

Gemolotto must rank alongside Ralf, Leo Mas and Ricky Montanari as a true pioneer of the wave of Italian dance music that swept across Europe in the early 90s.  That much I know, but the beauty of this series is that I find out new things every time I research a RiL (Record i Love) and I didn't know he was also the co-producer of Sueno Latino - the huge Manuel Gottsching sampling Balearic hit.  He was the composer and engineer behind the Nightcommunication EP double pack and the cut I have included for the series 'Night Clerk' with Leo Mas and Sergio Portaluri on writing duties as well.  I've got to say that at the time I didn't have a clue who any of those guys were but i was more than happy to play their superbly produced records on Heartbeat.  I also used to throw down Shafty on the same imprint that was another Gemolotto / Mas pseudonym. It's worth digging out their records again now as they were so well produced they easily stand up to modern productions or even sound better.  The hilariously mistitled 'Loose Control' (I presume they meant Lose Control and are not referencing their bowel movements!) is also a good track on the other slab of vinyl.  I recently bought a Mint copy to include it on the>music:factory part 2 mix and it set me back £20, you can pick it up far less but excessive surface noise renders those copies useless in my book.  The track features at 47 minutes on the mix...
