The first ever episode of Escape Pods hosted by Ben Randm & Ralph Lawson launches on Openlab tonight. Fittingly we look at the pioneering work of the late Delia Derbyshire with Caro C.
Caro is the instigator behind Delia Derbyshire Day, an electronic music charity that champions female artists past, present and future. Delia was an English musician and composer who carried out groundbreaking work in the field of electronic music as a member of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop during the 1960s including realising the electronic arrangement of the timeless Doctor Who Theme. Delia’s work has influenced many prominent musicians including; Aphex Twin, the Chemical Brothers and Paul Hartnoll of Orbital among many others...
